
Eric Ross
Eric Ross is a professional bassist and guitarist with over 20 years of performing and teaching experience. He has taught private guitar lessons and group classes through the Austin Live Music Academy at the University of Texas, as well as group guitar programs at MSCR in Madison, Wisconsin.
Eric holds a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. He teaches a wide range of styles, including pop, rock, funk, R&B, but has a particular passion for jazz. He especially enjoys working with students who want to deepen their understanding of improvisation, harmony, and jazz repertoire.
As a teacher, Eric focuses on giving students the tools and strategies they need to expand their musical vocabulary and develop their soloing skills. He emphasizes a strong foundation in fundamentals while encouraging students to explore music that inspires them, helping them grow both technically and creatively on their instrument.
