Christine is happy to be joining Alcorn as a ukulele and vocal instructor.
She earned Levels 1&2 of the Ukulele in the Classroom teaching pedagogy (James Hill/Chalmers Doane) and instructed in person and online from 2017 to 2024. Her repertoire includes folk, world, jazz and popular song.
Christine has been a voice teacher since the early 2000's. She studied vocal improvisation in jazz with Sheila Jordan and went onto learn vocal river and circle singing. Christine can help a singer learn fundamental skills to be a great musician and to lead a band.
Her knowledge with anatomy and somatics help impart to the singer how to best use the instrument he/she has, what to do to gain confidence and become a skilled yet natural singer, and how to overcome barriers to enjoying singing.
Graves has toured with a Capella world music group Malaika and performs as an independent folk-roots singer-songwriter since releasing her first recording Piece by Piece in 1995.
