Steve Boudreau is an Ottawa-based pianist who specializes in jazz and popular music as well as vocal accompaniment. His interests are broad ranging, from the classical music of Northern India to the music of Wayne Shorter and Brian Wilson.
Steve has recently released two CDs, “Open Arms” (solo piano) and “Pre-Dawn Skies” with guitarist Garry Elliott both featuring mostly original music.
Recently, Steve has been travelling the US and Canada with the first national tour of the broadway musical “Catch Me If You Can” and “Fiddler On The Roof” where he played keyboards and was the assistant music director. He has worked as a staff accompanist at the Boston Conservatory and recently gave a talk about working with audition pianists at the International Performing Arts Institute summer program in Keifersfelden, Germany.
Steve plays regularly with several Ottawa bands including Los Gringos and The Guilty Minds, and has appeared in various groups in the Ottawa International Jazz Festival.
Steve earned his Bachelors degree in Jazz Piano from Carleton University in 2004 and his Masters degree in Jazz Performance from the New England Conservatory in 2010.
He has been teaching jazz and Royal Conservatory piano up to Grade 8 for over 15 years.
