Leora Nauta enjoys working with students of all ages. For piano she teaches beginner to advanced including University Prep, and RCM. For voice Leora teaches beginner to intermediate voice, including RCM. Letora will build a strong foundation in musical skills and technique complimenting the musical style
Known for her intense and compelling performance ethic, Conductor and Organist Leora Nauta delivers arresting and powerful interpretations of the music she loves. She is delighted to call Ottawa her new home after many years of performing, teaching and studying worldwide.
Throughout her career Leora has held Conductor, Organist, and Lecturer positions across North America and Europe, and has worked at distinguished institutions such as The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul, McGill (Montréal), New England Conservatory (Boston), The Basilica of the Sacred Heart (Notre Dame), and Christ Church Anglican Cathedral (Ottawa). Her solo performance career has taken her to Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, The Netherlands, and across The USA and Canada.
Her 2014 performance at the National Cathedral of Luxembourg was radio broadcast throughout Europe, where Radio Ara Europa described her as “an exceptional musician… warm, open, and absolutely impassioned in her craft”. Performance highlights include NPR and CBC radio, and the NAC. She holds music degrees from Amsterdam Conservatory, McGill University, The University of Notre Dame, and The King’s University.
